Tropical has a well-established Research Center and has participated on several National, European and worldwide research projects having acquired experience with Academic Institutions. Bits and parts of our fuel cell power systems have been extensively designed and manufactured through those research projects and our close collaboration with professors from different disciplines.
The same time a full range of products for Academic institutions have been designed for laboratories experiments or for demonstration purposes during the theoretical classes or even for Research & Development Projects. The power range starts from a few watts and can go up to 5kW depending on the customer need and include PEM Fuel cell power systems, electrolysers (PEM & Alkaline), low pressure and high pressure hydrogen tanks, Efficient Power Electronics (Inverters, converters, chargers), electronic loads, battery & ultracapacitor power banks, solar modules, wind generators and many more options.
Our fuel cell power systems are being controlled by an intelligent controller which is operated by a 16-colored touch screen monitor. The management of the system is easily done through the touch screen monitor and although the system is fully automated, the user has the option to change which ever parameter likes followed by a 4-digit password. Moreover, data acquisition of the parameters can be saved on an excel file (SD memory card) and can be changed.
The parameters that can be logged as well as presented on the touch screen monitor are the following: Stack power, Stack voltage, Stack current, Battery voltage, Hydrogen leak sensor, Hydrogen inlet on/off valve, Hydrogen purge on/off valve, Air stack temperature, Air fan flow, System total operating time, Hydrogen pressure, Hydrogen consumption, etc. Apart from these through the Ethernet port and the USB port the user can remotely operate the system as long as it is connected on a static IP internet connection.
